The bigger picture
Fizbag is made out of 100% non woven durable polyester material. It was important to consider the practicality of our bags within the design process, to ensure our product effortlessly complimented today’s hectic lifestyle with a stylish twist. Despite our best efforts, it was not possible to design such a compact and durable bag using biodegradable material, as it would have simply been too bulky. The very nature of biodegradable material is that it does just that; biodegrade. We wanted a design with a long life span, which represented quality, convenience, style, and durability.
We were further reassured with our decision to use polyester when we learnt more about the general recycling process of even biodegradable materials. Recycling can be very expensive not just in monetary terms but also in relation to the environment. The chemical treatments and energy needed to recycle materials to the point of reuse, in many cases leaves an ecological footprint comparable to the energy used when making it in the first place!
Production
Fizbag takes responsibility for the social and environmental issues surrounding the production of Fizbag. Our bags are made in China where the production costs are relatively low, allowing adopting a reusable bag affordable for the majority of people. Through our friendships and interactions with the Far East, we believe that Fizbag are making a positive social and environmental impact in Asia, and indeed worldwide. Our policies ensure all manufacturers involved with Fizbag, follow strict guidelines concerning fair wages, clean and safe working conditions, and the avoidance of the usage of toxic chemicals. We ensure adherence by only using reputable manufacturers, and employ both a UK and China based agent, who closely supervises all elements of manufacture from working conditions, to the insistence of high quality production standards of all our products.
Carbon footprint
Working with high profile clients ensures Fizbag is always in demand. This enables us to use our preferred shipping method for delivery into the UK. Using the shipment method means we are using one of the lowest levels of carbon emissions possible. Air freight is used only very occasionally to meet the demands of our customers.
